Milica Lukšić, born 1964 in Zagreb.
Managed to survive ever since as freelance playwright and translator (from soap to crime and back). Had a number of plays produced for the Croatian Radio, Drama Department (including the one that has been banned, and then released after 11 years of waiting). A recent one, MALTESE TIMPANA, was presented in radio drama program of Prix Europa festival in Berlin, 2003.
My play "Hunting for the Carpet Bear" has been put on stage in 1990. (Teatar ITD, Zagreb). "The Bear" has been alive for one season, with performances on a couple of local drama festivals, including the award for best play on Marulovi dani festival in Split, 1991.
I had more than few attempts to do something outside the mainstream and institutions (cabaret in a Zagreb restaurant, various artist/author cooperatives etc). I still hope it will work some day.
